Chris Couch

Chris Couch, or Special Guest, has been playing music since he was in fifth grade. Mediocre attempts at trumpet and trombone and a good run at drums (mainly with the short lived Eastern Oregon ska band Slash and Burn) eventually led to Chris picking up the guitar while in college at Pacific University. With influences from classic rock to reggae and hip to punk, his lyrics and message speak of hope, love, and a passion for living. Originally from the Eastern side of Oregon and after a few relocations across the country, Chris now calls Portland his home.

Oscar

Oscar, 22, is from Willmington, Delaware and began drumming at age 13. Oscar is a self taught kit drummer with a strong r&b and rock background. He has worked with several bands and musicians over the years recording/performing. Currently, Oscar is in school for light/sound engineering and works with various musicians in the greater Portland area.

Philip Hunker

Philip is a native Oregonian and is excited to get involved with the Portland scene. His musical background is unlike the other members because OUTPOST is Philip's first music project (except for some piano lessons for less than a year while in middle school). Philip started writing music shortly after moving back west from graduate school on Long Island. He studied speech communication and performance and focused his research on the rhetorical elements of music: the performative and the poetic. After researching and writing about other peoples music he decided that only way to truly analyze the world we live in is by making art that we believe in. Philip joined OUTPOST shortly after it formed in the winter of 2006 at the spurring of Chris and Brian and has focused on making music ever since.

tmpILL

i have been on a long musical journey. an A to B to C path of misdirection, infinite wisdom, dead-ends, constant construction, powerful knowledge, and many red lights is my map through the world of sound manipulation. i've learned now that i no longer make music...i tap into the underlying stream of sound, change it and label it music. the valve i found into this music pipe came in the form of the band of brothers outPost. i was born into the name brian: courage. tmpILL is my moniker...rather it is who i strive to be. the idea of human i strive to be. a label for the ill-tempered temporary temple of earth that is my form. with my crumble of dust and water i grasp a wireless mic in one hand; the energy harnessed in the sound of outPost in the other and grip tight for the rollercoaster ride. respect and peace

Tyler Stauss

Born in New Jersey, Tyler began his journey playing bass in 1989. He has experienced playing with great musicians from the East Coast to the West Coast. Opening for many national acts has given him a perspective of where his passion for music could take him. Tyler plays a Tobias bass through a Gallian-Krueger head with a GK 2x10 and a SWR 18" cab.
